Danielle and her friends are laying low in the wilderness of Idaho. The Feds that investigate magic are hot on their trail following a series of deaths and reversed resurrections the gang has left in their wake. On Samhain, the night when the veil between the living and dead is at its thinnest, Doomsday conducts a protective ritual to throw the Feds off their trail. To pass time on the long, eerie night, Danielle, Brynn, Vulture, Thursday, and Doomsday huddle around the campfire and share stories about their dead friends, and the stories their friends would have told while they were still living: about troll cults, murder faeries, and the many forms that magic can take when falling in love and in resistance movements.
